Our factory is located in Sabae, Japan—the country's renowned center of eyewear craftsmanship.

Here, we manufacture our acetate and combination frames while carrying out research, prototyping, and the continual refinement of traditional handcraft techniques.

At the heart of Japanese eyewear manufacturing is an exceptional network of skilled artisans, specialist suppliers, and component makers. Their expertise is as essential as the craftsmanship within our own workshop.

Working in close partnership with some of Fukui's finest suppliers, we ensure a consistent supply of the highest-quality materials and components, allowing every frame to be produced with precision, consistency, and uncompromising attention to detail.

Artisan Production Methods

Every frame passes through multiple stages of inspection throughout the manufacturing process. 

Following the initial cutting and tumbling stages, each frame is processed using our proprietary SPIRAL GARA technique, developed by our own production team. The specially engineered angle creates a wave-like motion inside the tumbling barrel, allowing every surface of the frame—not only the edges—to come into consistent contact with the polishing media. This produces an even semi-polished finish before the final polishing process begins.

Each stage of polishing is carefully inspected by our team leaders to ensure a flawless finish.

Before full-scale assembly, we first produce a trial construction to verify the precision of every setting. Once approved, production proceeds under continuous inspection, with every stage checked against the original design specifications.

Before final polishing and hot stamping, each frame undergoes another detailed inspection. A final quality check is then completed before the frames are shipped to our Kamakura Distribution Center, where they receive one last inspection before delivery.
